Personal Training is the most effective way to achieve your desired fitness results! John Garey Fitness & Pilates offers Private and Semi-Private (2 or 3 people) training with the most diverse team of fitness and pilates trainers in Long Beach.

  • When you engage in personal training, your trainer will develop a tailored workout program that takes into consideration your personal fitness goals, needs, and abilities.
  • Semi-Private Training Sessions are also available by appointment and are perfect for couples or friends that want a more individualized attention than in a group class environment or who have specific goals and objectives for training. Semi-Privates are scheduled at your convenience and offer additional savings over Private training.

Private and Semi-Private training sessions are conducted in our 2 dedicated Private Training rooms.

John Garey Fitness & Pilates also features a designated Functional Training and Personal Training Room that is state of the art.  Our specialized equipment includes 2 TRX Suspension Training™ units, a Freemotion™ cable machine, a large variety of dumbbells, fitness bands and tubing, BOSUs™, stability balls, heavy rope, pull up bar, multiple benches, and more!  Our Personal Trainers have extensive training, education and certifications with the top education providers in the country. Our trainers specialize in “Functional Training”, which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life. Functional training features exercises that mimic natural movements, by combining strength, balance, and core in a way that typically leads to better muscular balance and joint stability. These exercises tend to engage the stabilizers and peripheral muscles in a way that standard resistance training machines do not. Private training sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration, but 25 minute “express” private sessions are also available. Private Training Sessions are available by appointment only.

Our Pilates Private Training Room features every type of Premiere Brand STOTT PILATES®, including four V2Max Plus™ Reformers*, one Cadillac, two Spring Walls, two TRX Suspension Training Units, two Stability Chairs™, two Ladder Barrels, two Spine Correctors, four Arc Barrels and a variety of other small apparatuses for a fun, varied and challenging workout every time. Private Pilates training is also available in our Group Pilates Reformer room and in our Group Fitness room. Our STOTT PILATES® Certified Instructors will tailor your sessions based upon your individual goals, needs, and abilities to help you achieve or exceed your goals as quickly and safely as practical. A critical element of STOTT PILATES® certification is that instructors learn modifications and variations for each exercise to ensure a safe and effective workout for people with any level of fitness and any variety of physical limitations or conditions. Private Pilates Training sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration, but 25 minute “express” private sessions are also available. Private Pilates Training Sessions are available by appointment only.
